STL Awarded 18001 Certification
Severn Trent Laboratories (STL) Ltd have recently been awarded OHSAS 18001 certification, the recognised standard for Health and Safety Management Systems, by the British Standards Institution (BSI).
To achieve the certification STL had to complete a range of assessments and audits conducted by the BSI concerning Health and Safety Management Systems and processes across all of STL’s eight sites. Auditors assessed health and safety procedures, safety risks, hazard identification, structured procedures documentation, laboratory and working conditions.
The OHSAS 18001 certification is a positive move for the company demonstrating STL’s commitment to managing health and safety risks and hazards within the working environment. STL will continue to maintain working practices to ensure adequate and safe working conditions within the organisation.
STL are also registered under ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 14001:2004 management standards. OHSAS 18001 has been designed to be compatible with ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 enabling STL to develop an integrated management system that delivers quality and reliability of service whilst minimising environmental impact and safety risks.
