Taste and Odour Analysis

Taste and Odour analysis forms a vital part of the Private Water Regulations. Following the transfer of this analysis to our state-of-the-art Wakefield laboratory, Severn Trent Services have adopted an improved method in reporting this data. The methodology remains in line with all regulatory requirements, offering both Quantitative and Qualitative analysis of your drinking water.

Qualitative analysis was reported using a separate determinand code to report the intensity and nature of the taste or odour. Our new reporting approach will use just one determinand code to report both the intensity and nature of the taste or odour.

Our approach for reporting Quantitative analysis previously used two determinand codes, one to report the dilution number and another to report the descriptor of the taste or odour. Our new reporting method at our Wakefield laboratory will use just one determinand code to report the dilution number of the taste or odour with the descriptor reported as a comment.
